U.S. Army Awards TCS $3.5 Million Addition to Military Transition SATCOM Contract

TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS) today announced it has received a $3.5 million contract increase by the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Lifecycle Management Command contracting authority at Ft. Monmouth, N.J. for satellite communications equipment and services to support Military Transition Teams (MiTTs). MiTTs are U.S. Army or Marine teams that embed and train with Allied forces in the War on Terror. MiTTs advise the Allied security forces in the areas of intelligence, communications, fire support, logistics and infantry tactics.

Awarded through the Army's World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle, this addition brings the total TCS funded value on this order to approximately $14.4 million. MiTT is a three-year contract with a potential total value of over $29 million if all contract options are exercised.
